What to expect
The meeting point is Writers Square, right opposite St Anne’s Cathedral, where we’ll kick things off before walking to Common Market, near the site of the old Parliament Bar. There, we dive into the history of queer Belfast—stories of resilience, resistance, and community.
Next, we move forward in time with a stop outside Kremlin, one of the city’s most iconic LGBTQ+ venues. From there, we head to The Maverick, our first drink stop, where we’ll enjoy a cocktail and soak up the vibes.
After that, we visit the Lyra McKee mural—an important moment of reflection and tribute—before finishing up at Union Street Bar. We’ll raise another glass together and take a moment to highlight how far Belfast has come as a city in terms of acceptance, visibility, and the growth of the Pride parade.
We’ll close with a message from the former Lord Mayor of Belfast, Micky Murray—a powerful reminder of the journey we’ve been on and the bright future ahead.
It’s a look at the past while having fun along the way, with a few drinks to wet your whistle and plenty of queer joy to go around.
(And if you’re not laughing at least once, are you even on a gay tour?)

"I brought along 4 of my Aussie mates to the tour upon the recommendation of a colleague in Melbourne. I wasn't disappointed. The guide was very interesting and friendly, was always in jovial mood and had a vast knowledge of the city and its sights. The walking tour was at a steady but casual pace and was well worth the reasonable price we paid. Thanks guys. I'll be back!"
